Igniting Children’s Interest in Research
Expertise in science is crucial to finding solutions for the future, and knowledgeable children will be able to help create a better world when they grow up. Forskerfabrikken therefore seeks to increase children’s awareness of how tech and research impact them personally, as well as the benefits for society and nature. It does this by spreading science-related fun and understanding to children across Norway, and by giving them the chance to immerse themselves in these subjects in their local environment.
Since 2002, the company has inspired over half a million children to explore the exciting world of science through research courses, summer schools, educational toys and by offering continuing education courses for educators in kindergartens and schools.
Learning How Tech and Research Affect Society
Forskerfabrikken’s teaching methods are based on pedagogical techniques that activate and stimulate the brain. All the activities are practical, and children are invited to participate in experiences that activate both the senses and the body. This increases the learning outcome and their enjoyment of understanding.
Forskerfabrikken collaborates with several partners to increase interest in science topics among children. Since 2016, Hydro has been the company’s main partner, and together they implement several local and national initiatives.
