Ferd Social Entrepreneurs invests in companies and solutions with measurable positive social impact. Through a broad range of investment instruments – from direct equity investments and funds to social outcome contracts, early-stage investments through the Impact Startup accelerator, and place-based initiatives such as The Oslo Initiative – we contribute to developing, maturing, and scaling solutions with the potential for lasting social impact.
Our portfolio consists of companies that combine documented social impact with sustainable business models. Across our investments, we share a clear ambition: to drive lasting positive change while building strong, scalable organisations.
Ferd Social Entrepreneurs also invests through funds that contribute to social impact and sustainable value creation. Our fund investments target asset managers and collaborative initiatives that develop, finance, and scale solutions with documented social impact.
At Ferd Social Entrepreneurs, we support impact contracts as a way to unlock new solutions to societal challenges by aligning public services, private capital and social innovators around shared goals. An impact contract lets private investors pre-finance interventions, and the public sector pays only if agreed-upon social results are achieved.
Our subsidiary, Impact StartUp, is Norway’s leading environment for early-stage companies addressing societal challenges. They offer a nationwide incubator and accelerator program with an investment of NOK 1 million.
The Oslo Initiative is Ferd’s long-term, strategic effort to strengthen opportunities for children and young people in Oslo.
The initiative focuses on boroughs where socioeconomic challenges are most pronounced. Here, we support organisations that expand access to leisure activities, improve school completion and create stronger pathways into working life. At the same time, we work to ensure that efforts are better connected across the arenas that shape young people’s lives — from school and leisure activities to family and employment.
