Challenges and the Need for Targeted Support
Too many young adults in Norway receive long-term disability benefits without access to tailored support that could help them return to education or the workforce. Many face complex mental health issues or social challenges and fall between the cracks of existing public support systems.
The FROG Program – A Path Back to Activity
The social enterprise lyk-z & døtre has developed the FROG Program, a strengths-based course that supports young people in returning to school or work. Together with Fremtind Insurance and lyk-z & døtre, we offer the program to Fremtind’s customers through a social outcome contract.
Target Group
The primary target group is young adults currently receiving disability benefits who are not in education or employment
Impact Performance
We entered the social outcome contract with lyk-z and Fremtind Insurance in august 2024, so the project has just started. The ambition for the first two years of this outcome contract is to reach 90 clients of Fremtind insurance, being on disability benefits with the FROG-program. Based on the earlier success of this program our target is that almost all of the participants find a better footing in their daily life, and that 50% re-enter education or the workforce with a new clarity in what they want to achieve.
Fremtind Insurance will pay a success fee to the investor when a participant stops receiving disability pension payments from NAV. We will have received the whole investment back if the result is reached for 30 persons, and all parties will economically benefit.
Six months into the program we find that the recruitment of clients is much harder than anticipated. The involved parties are working continuously to increase the recruitment and participation rate in 2025.
